The Studio at Shakespeare by the Sea welcomes applications from professional actors who want to develop their Shakespeare monologue audition piece.Your monologue should represent your best possible work: clear, with strong choices made, so that your unique artistry can shine through. Jade and Drew Douris-O’Hara will give you access to a full toolbox of techniques you can use to make your speech the best it can be. On the final day, we’ll film your monologue at the Park Place Theatre for you to use to promote your work.
COURSE BREAKDOWN:
Monday, September 16th, 6-9PM: Text & Tools A crash course in the seven most useful tools for illuminating a piece of Shakespeare text
Monday, September 23rd, 6-9PM: Small Group Coachings Exploring your piece in a small group setting will give you practise with the tools by applying them to your work as well as others’.
October 1-6, various times: Private Coaching You’ll book a 60-90-minute private session for one-on-one coaching, for individualised work and feedback on your piece.
Monday, October 7th, 6-9PM: Rehearsal & Filming Everyone will get a rehearsal and some last-minute notes before we bring up the theatre lights and film your piece, to be sent to you!

Stagecoach Halifax
Offering high-quality programs for children and teens ages 4-18 years, Stagecoach School for the Performing Arts specializes in three disciplines, drama, dance and singing. Students will develop important musical theatre skills like physical awareness, communication and articulation, all while building confidence and having fun.
Group classes are offered on a weekly basis, each class runs for 3 hours with weekday and weekend classes available, and they even offer private acting and voice lessons for students of all ages. Stagecoach will let you try before you buy! Your kids can try Stagecoach for 2 weeks before paying for the whole term. Register for the class you want then pay only the deposit. Your child can try out the program before you commit. Be prepared for them to fall in love!
Spring is just around the corner and Stagecoach is offering spring term classes running from March to June. There are classes in Halifax, Bedford, Dartmouth and Truro. Registration is open now and we can’t wait to see all of your smiling faces next month! This summer will also be jam packed with fun camps for your kids. Stagecoach has something for everyone including Under the Sea, Best of Broadway, and The Greatest Show on Earth Circus camp!
