Logan "Lo" Robins (he/they) is a queer environmental theatre maker, director, puppeteer, performer, educator, writer, sound designer, and creator of exhaustive lists- based in the Moolipchugechk region of Mi’kma’ki (colonially known as Herring Cove, Nova Scotia).They are the Artistic Director of The Unnatural Disaster Theatre Co. through which they have created, facilitated, and directed over a dozen new works (in 2024 “Hippoposthumous” toured to One Yellow Rabbit’s High Performance Rodeo and ArtsPlace Canmore in Alberta and “The Augur” was performed in both Halifax and Toronto at “What The Festival”)!He is passionate about devised theatre, mask, puppetry, and outdoor site-specific theatre that connects audiences to the natural world. As an early career director Logan believes that prioritising collective creation and community care are key to creating art that forges pathways of empathy towards others, the planet, and ourselves. Patrick Maubert (he/they) is a queer musical theatre practitioner and social worker. Patrick has a Master’s Degree in Musical Theatre Creative Practice from ArtsEd: City University of London, where Andrew Lloyd Webber is a Patron and Mentor. He Studied Musical Theatre Performance at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy of New York City. They recently graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work Degree at Dalhousie University here in Kjipuktuk (Halifax).As a performer, Maubert has been a member of the 12 Tenors, touring internationally over the span of seven years. He has worked with such companies as Musicals Tonight Off-Broadway NYC, Toronto Centre for the Arts, Tokyo Disneyland, Canada’s Wonderland, South Holland Centre UK, Halifax Fringe Festival, Eastern Front Theatre, Neptune Theatre Chrysalis Project and Theatre New Brunswick.Patrick is the former staging director of the acclaimed London Gay Men’s Chorus and was the Associate Artistic Director of Toronto’s No Strings Theatre and London’s A Friend of a Friend Productions, where he directed such shows as Little Women, The Drowsy Chaperone, Little Shop of Horrors and the world premiere of Liam: the musical. Patrick most recently directed Mozart & Sondheim: The Dal Fountain School of Performing Arts Opera Program Song & Scene production.Maubert is the former Head of the Voice Faculty at the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts and has been a private singing, musical theatre & drama teacher at such institutions as the Fountain School of Performing Arts at Dalhousie University, Stagecoach Academy International, Neptune Theatre School, Ross Creek Centre for the Arts, No Strings Theatre School, Northwood, YouthNet, and Theatre New Brunswick Theatre School. He has been an adjudicator at music and drama festivals across Canada. Katie Cochrane (She/Her) holds her MMus Theatre in Vocal Performance with an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy at New York University Steinhardt, as well as a BMus in Vocal Performance from Acadia University. Originally from the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Katie returned to Halifax from New York City in 2020. Katie is currently the head of the voice department and co-program director of the musical theatre programs at Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts and teaches Vocal Pedagogy and Vocology at the FSPA at Dalhousie University. She is a Board Member for the Canadian Atlantic Provinces NATS and an Advisor for their student chapter. She was recently the first recipient of the inaugural Canadian Vocal Pedagogy award, which allowed her to attend the 58th NATS National Conference in Knoxville, TN in spring 2024. Katie strongly believes in mentoring the next generation of talented young singers, and is a regular clinician, performer and adjudicator in voice and musical theatre across Canada.She has performed across the United States and Canada: recent credits include Carrie in Carousel (MCO), Broadway Brunch at the Carleton, and Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana (MCO). Past credits include: performances at Carnegie Hall with Essential Voices USA and the New York Pops and Mother Superior in Sister Act the Musical at The Frederick Loewe Theatre in NYC. Featured ensemble in On the Town in NYC’s historic Provincetown Playhouse, Ado Annie in Oklahoma! Morris is a Halifax-based performing arts educator and novelist.She has been writing, directing and producing student theatre in education for decades and now works with Halifax Regional Arts.Aren’s debut, We Happy Few, is a historical fiction novel taking place in Halifax, NS at the end of the Second World War and was released in May 2022. She has just completed a first draft of her sophomore novel, another historical fiction set in NS.Her other endeavours include women’s creativity retreats, writing and producing children’s theatre and dance shows, and multidisciplinary collaborations with local artists, dancers and writers.She is one half of the short lived and now defunct Black Box Publishing House, which is now evolving to become Black Box Creative Development Agency, a container large enough to hold and promote all of Aren’s creative interests and pursuits. |
