(THEA 3711.03: Stage Design 2a) – Fall 2026
This Part-Time Academic will be fully responsible for the teaching and grading of one section of THEA 3711.03 Stage Design 2a, from September 1 to December 31, 2026 (Fall Term 2026), as follows:
- Develop 12 weeks of course content related to scenic design for live performance to be delivered in person through lectures, readings, discussions, presentations, and other assessments.
- Build the online course space in Brightspace.
- Grade assessments (student presentations, design assignments, essays/written work, participation/ discussions) and provide timely feedback to students.
- The instructor will work closely with faculty and teaching staff in the Stage Design and Technical Theatre program to coordinate curriculum requirements. The instructor is required to provide a Method of Assessment. This position reports to the Director of the Fountain School of Performing Arts.
Course Description:
In Stage Design 2a, students will: develop complex concepts and practice artistic versatility through examining diverse style and genre; solve in-depth design challenges; develop multi-scene set design; further develop skills in scale model building and drafting, as well as learn how to realize designs using a variety of technologies.
