What if you could rent the family you need?
ALONE TOGETHER is an interactive film set inside a family rental agency, where the people on screen can hear you, respond to you, and draw you into the story.
Originally created in 2022, before the current wave of generative AI, the work uses artificial intelligence less as its subject than as a storytelling tool, giving its digital characters agency and allowing each conversation to unfold differently.
Produced by XOST in collaboration with Arcade and Afro Viking Pictures, ALONE TOGETHER has been presented at SXSW, IDFA DocLab and Belfast XR, and was later curated for MIT Docubase.
Presented as part of the C4 Art Games exhibition at the Centre for Art Tapes, ALONE TOGETHER invites one person at a time into a series of intimate encounters about connection, loneliness, memory, and what it means to be heard.
